Frequently Asked Questionshandraised

  1. What can I buy here?
    • A good selection of nonperishable foods and other grocery items are for sale here. As this is a relatively new program for Amazon.com, we can expect more to be added to the selection in the weeks and months to come.
  2. How is payment made?
    • Payment is made to Amazon.com. Clicking on any of the shopping links here will take you to the Amazon.com site, and you will be making your purchases directly to them, using a credit or debit card, just as you would if you were to buy a book from them.
  3. How does this help the Magic City Morning Star?
    • As we do not charge for access to our news and opinion site, or for the use of our forum, our only income is from advertisements and now, hopefully, through our grocery section, as well. When you purchase something from Amazon.com after clicking on one of our links, we receive a small percentage of the purchase price.
  4. I don’t live in the Katahdin region of Maine. Can I still purchase groceries from Morning Star Groceries?
    • Yes, since you would actually be making the purchase through Amazon.com, you may live anywhere in the United States and still be able to purchase groceries through our grocery section.
  5. Can I trust it?
    • Your purchases are made directly through Amazon.com, which first became known as the largest online book seller in the world, but has since added greatly to its stock of items for sale. Amazon.com, Inc., (Nasdaq:AMZN), a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, opened on the World Wide Web in July 1995 and today offers Earth's Biggest Selection. Amazon.com, Inc. seeks to be Earth's most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online, and endeavors to offer its customers the lowest possible prices. Amazon.com and other sellers offer millions of unique new, refurbished and used items in categories such as health and personal care, jewelry and watches, gourmet food, sports and outdoors, apparel and accessories, books, music, DVDs, electronics and office, toys and baby, and home and garden.
  6. I only see a few items pictured. Is that all there is?
    • No, it is not. On each of our shopping pages, just below the box where you see some items pictured, you’ll see a link that says, “CLICK HERE for ...”
    • If you click on that link, you will be taken from this site to the corresponding page on Amazon.com, where you may browse for additional products.
  7. Do I have to keep coming back to the Morning Star Groceries site each time I want to add an additional item to my shopping cart?
    • Once you have clicked on a link from Morning Star Groceries, it is not necessary for you to come back here each time you wish to add an additional item. Once you have been taken to the Amazon.com site, you may simply browse through the items there, if you wish. Your purchases will still be credited to us for the purpose of our percentage.
    • Even if you move from the Amazon Grocery section their Book pages, we will still be credited.
    • If you wish to return to Morning Star Groceries between purchases, please do so, but we want you to have the freedom to shop at your convenience.
  8. Sometimes the product box is displaying items that don’t seem to have anything to do with the page that I’m in. What’s with that?
    • That seems to be a problem on Amazon’s side. I have contacted their tech support, and have also asked for help from other associates within their forum. Hopefully, it will be corrected soon. Meanwhile, if you refresh the page it should display the correct items.
  9. If something doesn’t work, who do I contact?
    • If something doesn’t work on our pages here at Morning Star Groceries, please notify me at sales@magic-city-news.com. This program is new to us, so we will appreciate your assistance in making it easier for everyone.
    • If something doesn’t work on the Amazon.com pages, you will find a link to their “Help” section in the upper right of each of their pages.
